In this monograph new engineering approach to distributed parameter systems modeling, control and design is presented introducing lumped-input/distributed-output systems.
It is well known that distributed parameter systems offer more adequate description of time-space dynamics of phenomena and processes as the lumped parameter ones do which describe mainly the time dependence of the processes being studied.
Nowadays, such an approach is more and more often used for modeling, control and design of machines and equipment for technological and manufacturing processes. Other applications can be in the field of smart structures design, environmental systems projecting and distributed parameter systems involved in aircraft and spacecraft industries.
The approach proposed offers new possibilities for solutions of distributed parameter problems, practically as simple as those proposed by lumped parameter systems theory for lumped parameter problems.
The monograph has been designed with the aim to help professionals working in the field of process dynamics in technical and also non-technical branches. It is recommended also to students and Ph.D. students at universities of technology as well as to engineers working in modeling, control and design of continuous diffusion type technological processes and mechatronic oscillating type systems on the basis of smart material structures.
